Honda CB100N Motorcycle Project Registered 1981 W plate, V5C form present in my name. Built for the hell of it years ago (acquired in 2011) with all the things I wanted to do back in the day when these were two a penny.I have not kept any of the receipts, I intended to keep the bike plus didn’t want the other half to know what I had spent. I will list below what has been done, The bike isn’t a show bike and not perfect, there are chips in the frame paint where its been sharing the shed but the main bodywork looks fine. There are also imperfections in the chrome most noticeable in the headlamp rim. Overall for the year it is very good.I am selling her to make space for another project that’s also been stored for far too long.The frame, swing arm and all bracketry including the airbox were blasted back to bare metal before rust proofing then painting. New centre stand, pivot, and spring fitted.The most obvious is the paint (2K) which has metal flake added to the lacquer, the bodywork is metallic silver with holographic flake, the frame I went with a bronze flake over a black base with holographic flake on top. With hindsight I would have gone with a black only frame. None of the paint has been cut back and although looks good could do with it to bring to a highly polished finish. Seat recovered.Handlebars are Renthal Alloy with ProGrip handlebar grips.New rear shocks.Brakes:Changed to the CG125 (if I remember correctly a 2001 model) rear wheel with larger brake drum, the whole front end forks included was converted to CG125, the hydraulic brake system is off a CBR125 2004 model as is the clutch lever mount.New pressed alloy number plate made up and fitted.The engine/Gearbox:Main bearing housings in the crankcase had slight play so were machined out and re sleeved to hold the crank nice and securely, the crankshaft was fully rebuilt.All gearbox bearings and seals replaced.Timing chain replaced.Drive chain and sprockets also replaced.124cc bore and piston (2nd hand) fitted.Cylinder head ports blended and one off manifold machined to fit larger carb with heat shield.Electrics:All checked and any damage repaired, a few extra earths added as these only had one from factory, points and condenser, a brand new acid matt battery has just been fitted. Everything works as it should, the only thing which I would replace is the indicator relay which played about the last time I checked the bike over but does work at present.Bolts have been replaced with stainless items including one off made top hat style bushes that hold the clocks, airbox, and rear lamps. stainless rear wheel spacers also fitted.I have fired the old girl up today via an external fuel tank (main tank dry) and she runs very well but has a slight misfire at present which I will try to have a look at, its probably a little storage corrosion on the points. Again I emphasize that this is not built as a show bike nor in that condition although extremely good, there are still a few touches it could do with to finish like the front brake and clutch levers do not match, a new brake hose and some bar ends would be nice, but is a project ever finished?She’s not been mot’d nor on the road at any time I’ve had her, only ever ridden around the garden to test all works ok.Sold as seen, no warranties whatsoever, its a project to be completed. I would highly recommend you view the bike prior to bidding if you are in any doubt. Idle is a little too high (just below 2000 rpm) so the carb definitely needs the pilot jet and maybe galleries blown out and I’m sure that’ll sort the idle back down to just over 1000 rpm where it was when I first had her set up. Another short video after points check, copy and paste into your browser:
