For sale now as I’ve recently been made redundant and this is just a plaything…
Last year, I decided that I fancied doing a track day at Cadwell Park. Being a proud Yorkshireman, I couldn’t bring myself to pay the £450 for a hire bike and the possible extra costs involved with crashing it!!
I figured that I could buy a bike or under a grand and ride around at a track for the day and IF I didn’t crash it, I’d be quids in!
I found this for sale up in Middlesborough, it had 6 months MOT on it and had had a lot of work already carried out;
Valve clearance done
Rear caliper rebuilt
Front calipers refurbished with new post one and seals
Ultrasonic clean up to the carbs and checked the dreaded diaphragms – all fine.
Front wheel bearings replaced
Rear wheel bearings replaced
I bought it on the spot and rode it home and began a minimalist track preparation i.e.-
1 tooth down front sprocket
1 tooth up rear sprocket
Braided hoses fitted on front brakes
Centre stand removal
Side stand removal
A pair of Racetec RR’s fitted…. that’s it!
The 120 70 front wouldn’t fit under the mudguard without scraping (up from 60 profile) so I ‘fitted’ an old one from an MVf1 that I had laying around… it got the bike through the “saftey” test without a murmur.
All the removed bits are included in the sale.
ie, stands and front mudguard and all fitting bolts etc.
This would be suitable and easy to put back on the road if you felt so inclined. It’s all there ready to go, although I did pop a fork seal as I came over the mountain. This still needs to be repaired.
It is currently SORN’d. V5 and keys present, plus some history.
