Suzuki GS500E Black P Reg ( 1997 )
For sale is my GS500 E, I have had this bike for around 10 years and been many places on it, it’s been a blast.Unfortunately It has started having issues starting when left for a couple of days and needed to be jumped or bumped.The fault sounds electrical like the battery is flat but will make a crackle sound.
I have had a confirmed working battery, starter motor and starter relay tried but still the problem remains. I can’t find any electrical shorts or bad grounds. Other times it will just start normally.
If I could get to the bottom of the issue I would be keeping it, unfortunately I am not spending any more money on it and I have had enough so it has now been replaced with new one.
The bike does ride and will start eventually so can be driven away or loaded in a van without much of a problem. Its got a recent MOT (within the last couple of months I think).
It has had a top end rebuild in the last year, new rings, shims and a good clean but had no effect on the problem, no idea if the rest of the engine is good or not though.
The front tyre is good (1 or 2 year old maybe 1k put on it at the most) and the rear is getting close to needing to be replaced but is still legal.
Its had oil, plugs and filter every year and taken out at weekends for a quick ride.
The bike has had its fair share of abuse since 1997, it has also spent some time outside under covers and has marks and rust in the usual places and maybe not so usual, every part of the bike has some kind of mark or history. Some have a bit of cracking in the corners with them been taken off and put back on over the years.
The reg is P845 YUM if you would like to check the MOT history.
It is being sold openly with all its faults and nothing will be deliberately hidden for any buyer.
