Aprilia pegaso 650 1996 N reg.For spares or repairs/restoration/project.I got this a few years ago with an oil pressure problem that was causing the cam end caps to pop out releasing oil.i took the top end off and cleared oilways and checked for any obvious problems but didnt solve it.new gaskets and rings installed at the time.this is the partially dismantled engine shown in the photos.it could be oil pump or obstruction in bottom end.a previous owner had a shop straighten the gear change shaft and it appears they had it open.the frame holds the oil so that was checked and filter cleaned to no avail.last unfortunate point to make is engine parts were shelved in garage and roof leaked directly into head….although i cleaned it up its a mess and one bucket is seized fast but could possibly be drilled out and head salvaged.there is an engine manual in a ring binder for this motor.Bike now has a 1997 engine fitted.it needs the correct cdi for 1997 which i dont have but are available on ebay.its been stood for a while but i recently checked it turns over which it does easily and smoothly so i would guess it should run fine.i changed the sub frame to a 1997 that i got with the spare frame to allow alternator case to fit correctly.the original sidestand was useless fitted to original sub frame so this props it up nicely.i have a few other projects that need space and funds so the aprilia needs to make way although im miffed i couldnt sort it when i had the time.Were i to proceed with it i would get frame oilway pressure checked.The bike is all there to make a good challenge to put it back to original or make a special.The pillion frame and swinging arm were powder coated.Bodywork very good condition.saddle usuable but could do with recovering.There is a key.i have the blue logbook in my name.i either cant find it or dvla didnt issue red log book.collection only trailer or van.allow boot space for spares if trailer.please study photos for overall condition.mileage on original clockset 45822 kilometres.
