Here we have a Project Suzuki Burgman 125cc 2002 model with good engine and mechanics
It appears the bike has been stolen and reclaimed, and is in not bad condition, it requires a screwdriver to start until electric start is fixed, steering lock all working and so is ignition, will need seat lock looked at too, i was going to try and fix and start a project as bored but bit off more than could chew as i know nothing about mechanics and me being me just jumped in with both feet, much respect shown to those that buy this and can do what just overwhelmed me, it was one of those good ideas at the time, it does come with a v5 in the last owners name, i was going to put it in mine but the wife was not amused as i had plans to turn the kitchen into a garage, so note why its now here, she won 🤣
The bike is in quite good condition for being basically 20 years old, the plastics(fairings) are basically one of the main problems with the bike, some scrapes and scratches and a few cracks here and there, a few cable ties too, secondly the electric start does not work, the cut off does and the lights do but not the start, maybe an easy fix for someone but I’m a complete virgin to mechanics so its above and beyond my expertise to be honest with you, the body is solid though as most screws are in so plastics do hold very well, the engine for being 20 year old is quite outstanding to be fair, once warmed up she will idle quite calmly all day long with no splutter at all, and she only has just under 10800 miles on the clock too so for being 20 year old its not really even been ran in, also mechanically she seems fine, i did have a pre-mot done as it had an advisory, bit it was only for surface rust in places and the frame is 100% solid i was told so no worries there, he said it would deffo need front and rear discs and pads, plus the electric start fixed and a rear tyre(front is in really good condition i was told) and it would pass an mot straight away, could also do with seat lock looking at too, electrics all appear to be fine too, does need a bulb for rear brake light i was told though, mechanically the bike seems fine other than screw driver start until the switch is fixed, the battery is charged and holds charge, nice big bike just more of a cosmetic fix now than a mechanical one, may need one or two small jobs but not that i can see as it does run nice when started
Please note this is not a small 125cc this is a touring/cruiser type and is quite long and wide and can fit 2 helmets in the seat so that should possibly tell you
If you can maybe get some new plastics or can repair them in places then it shouldnt cost too much for the needed parts and should sale an MOT, these bikes can still easily fetch a £1000 plus as great comfort and engines and can reach top speeds of 70mph making it one of the fastest scooters in the 125cc range
Like i said when warm the bike ticks over for days and pulls nicely and picks up speed no problem, there are no leaks at all from the bike, there is plenty oil and coolant in too, so all seals and gaskets seem in good shape
The bike will need picked up as no brakes or mot, just out this month, you can also arrange a man and van pick up if you need and I’m more than happy to help them load it too, or anyone who picks up for that matter
A perfect project for someone who knows what their doing (thats not me) or maybe you need spares for your own bike, either way this is perfect for someone to learn on or strip or rebuild
