Suzuki Dr500/DR500S/SP500 (’81 – ’84) exhaust system.Down pipe and muffler.This is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination .. but it is around 40 years old.No heat shields, screws or bolts present. There is one heat shield bolt snapped off on downpipe – see picture 3. Muffler mounting gromets are in place but no spacers.The collar that fixes the muffler to the down pipe is rusted in place and at some point the pipe has been cut.There is also a plate riveted to the muffler – see Pictures .. I don’t know what this hides. I think the baffle has also come loose as there is something rattling inside the muffler when shaken – might be fixable if the riveted plate is removed.Otherwise there is some rust .. and I can see a couple of pin holes in the muffler – see picture 8.This exhaust will need work, probably including welding, to be road legal.Been as honest as I can .. I don’t think I missed anything – but look at the pictures and decide for yourself. Don’t expect to be able to fit it and ride without fixing it up first.
