For Sale for spares or repair – my old high milage Tiger 800 XC. Not used since Covid, and does not run. Garage stored but scruffy as befits a bike that’s done nearly 46,000 miles. Comes with key (plus spare if I can find it), spare starter motor, and clutch changing tool (plus any bits I find) to go with it.The good – is straight, was used as my daily commuter before the plague hit. Maintained by me, had new chain and sprocket before lock down. Regular castrol synth oil, valve clearances, and filter since out of warranty.The bad – does not run. I haven’t ridden at all since covid, – after lockdown I stopped commuting and didn’t ride at all after eye surgery. Engine hasn’t turned over in 3 years and fuel system/injectors etc are no doubt gummed up. I’ll give it a go to get it to start and will update here, but I don’t have a lot of time any more so count on a lot of stripping and cleaning to get this to run.Also – if you know these bikes then you know they’ve got 2 weaknesses – the starters get tired and need replacing and the gearchange shaft pinion is poor and breaks every 15-20 k miles. I changed the shaft twice (it’s a sod of a job but doable, thus clutch tool that comes with it), but I’d guess that it’s about due. I’ve got a spare starter motor for it that needs a recon if you’re going to repair. Also comes with a well-used Haynes.No reserve, hoping that someone who’s got the time to get her going again will pick her up and get the remaining life out of her.
